The metal seated wear-resistant C-ball valve independently developed and manufactured by Afa Flow Control Co., Ltd. with independent intellectual property rights has been widely used in domestic coal gasification unit black water, gray water, slag water, coal slurry, chilled water, synthesis gas and other pipelines and has been well received by users. Among them, the promotion and application of synthesis gas pipelines has been gradually carried out in recent years. At present, many companies use three-eccentric butterfly valves, gate valves, ordinary metal seated ball valves and orbit ball valves as cut-off valves for synthesis gas pipelines and venting pipelines on synthesis gas pipelines. These valves play a vital role in the start-up and shutdown of gasification units and the normal operation of the units.

 

Syngas contains dispersed solid particles and wet H2S, which can easily cause pipeline scouring, slag accumulation and corrosion, resulting in valve opening and closing difficulties, loose sealing, large leakage and short service life. The wear-resistant C-ball valve solves the above problems well in terms of design concept and structural characteristics and provides light, fast, efficient and reliable guarantee for the opening and closing of syngas pipeline valves.

 

Since 2015, Wanhua Chemical Group's Yantai production base tried out three 600LB, 20"  wear-resistant C-ball valves on the syngas venting pipeline from the water scrubber outlet to the flare and in the first half of this year, the 600LB, 32" large-diameter wear-resistant C-ball valve was successfully used on the main pipeline of the synthesis boundary area of the gasification unit of the 600,000 tons/year coal-to-olefin project of Ningxia Baofeng Energy Group. wear-resistant C-ball valves have been successfully used on the syngas pipelines of coal gasification units of many domestic enterprises and have achieved good results.

 

We just received news from the system shutdown and maintenance site of Wanhua Chemical Group's Yantai production base in July. The wear-resistant C-ball valve used in the water scrubber outlet to the flare synthesis gas venting pipeline twice in 2015 and 2018. One has been used for five years and the other two years respectively without erosion, corrosion, jamming and poor sealing. Wanhua Chemical Group plans to take this opportunity to maintain the valve and then reinstall the C-ball valve for continued use.




The success of Wanhua Chemical Group's Yantai production base in using wear-resistant C- ball valves on the synthesis gas venting pipeline has once again verified that  wear-resistant C-ball valves not only have outstanding advantages in pipelines such as black water, gray water, slag water, coal slurry, and chilled water in coal gasification units, but also have obvious advantages in coal gasification synthesis gas pipelines.
